Top Ten Questions About Impact Prayer Ministry (IPM)
1. “What is Impact Prayer Ministry?”
Impact Prayer Ministry is a part of Impact Ministries International (IMI), a prayer-based ministry whose staff pursues intimacy with God first and allows ministry to flow out of that pursuit of God.
I began laying the groundwork for Impact Prayer Ministry at the request of Dean Trune, executive director of IMI. IPM is focused on raising the level of prayer in North America, beginning in areas where Impact has existing staff doing ministry.
2. “What is the purpose of Impact Prayer Ministry?”
Impact Prayer Ministry draws its purpose from that of Impact Ministries International, which is to impact the world through prayer and God’s Word. We do this by pursuing, modeling, and teaching intimacy with God as we follow the commands of Jesus: Love God, Love People, Make Disciples.
3. “Why are you working with Impact?”
I am working with Impact because of God’s clear calling in my life to do prayer ministry with them. He has been preparing me for this ministry and has confirmed this over time through His Word and Godly counsel.
4. “What do you do?”
I pursue intimacy with God. I pray. I listen to God. I teach and lead others to pray more passionately and effectively through prayer journeys, prayer gatherings, prayer seminars, prayer walks, and concerts of prayer. I organize and coordinate a prayer ministry for Impact staff around the world as they share requests and participate in the ministry of praying for one another.
5. “Where does this ministry take place?”
My responsibility within Impact is to develop prayer ministry within North America. I go where God leads, invites, and allows. Much of the initial work will take place in locations across the U.S. where Impact is currently doing ministry and is in need of additional staffing and resources. I will also be focused on areas where God is calling Impact to minister and workers are needed to begin the work.
6. “Where will you live?”
My family and I will continue to live at our home in South Bend. My work will require a lot of traveling and the South Bend airport is an easy doorway to the world.
7. “Why do you go to different places to pray?”
Praying on-site gives the ability to pray with insight. Impact does prayer journeys and prayer gatherings in various locations in order to have a better “feel” of what God is doing and about to do there. When we are “on-site”, we are also able to encourage existing churches and ministries that we hope to partner with.
8. “How do you get paid?”
As Impact staff, I will receive a paycheck twice a month from support I have raised. I am responsible for raising all of the support I will need for my salary and the prayer ministry expenses.
9. “Where does your support come from?”
Impact Prayer Ministry exists by the grace of God in partnership with churches and individuals that give as He leads.
10. “How can I help?”
I need prayer partners who will agree to pray at least once a week for my family and me as I do the ministry He has called me to.
I need regular financial support. My monthly budget to accomplish the prayer ministry and support my family is $4,800.00.
